MRS. TOYIN SARAKI
VISITS OUR HOSPICE
January 2004 was a special day in
the calendar of Hearts of Gold Children's Hospice, Surulere,
Lagos.
It was the day the Wife of the Kwara
State Governor, Her Excellency, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Saraki
showed her humanitarian love and support to children
with terminal illnesses resident at the Home.
She is indeed a woman with a Heart
of Gold. She played with the children, presented educational
toys, paid the salary of a full time social worker specially
for two year old baby Tobi.
The baby is blind, was beaten and abandoned
and found wrapped in a nylon bag tied and thrown into
a canal at Itire, Surulere, Lagos. Baby Tobi suffers
from a condition known as Cerebral Palsy which affects
the brain, lacks co-ordination, muscle and the general
movement of the body.
On behalf of the children of Hearts
of Gold, we say Thank You to Her Excellency, Mrs. Oluwatoyin
Saraki and we look forward to her next visit.
